Snowfall reaches 26 inches in part of Fairfield County

The latest report from the National Weather Service shows snow accumulations reached as high as 26 inches in parts of Fairfield County.
Snow totals are listed in descending order.
New Fairfield: 26.8 inches
Newtown: 24.3 inches
Ridgefield: 19 inches
Danbury: 16.2 inches
Monroe: 16 inches
Bethel: 16 inches
Shelton: 16 inches
Seymour: 15.5 inches
Brookfield: 12.9 inches
Fairfield: 10 inches
Stamford: 8.2 inches
Milford: 7.7 inches
Stratford: 7 inches
Norwalk: 6.1 inches
Bridgeport Airport: 6 inches
Darien: 5.9 inches
As Wednesday’s snowstorm tapered off, the National Weather Service posted the most recently available snow accumulation totals across the state.
Below are totals for Fairfield and New Haven counties, based on the most recent NWS report around 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
Rather than alphabetized, the snow totals are shown in descending order; the town or city at the top of the list for each county indicates the one with the most snowfall.
Newtown: 19.6 inches (as of 8:15 p.m.)
New Fairfield: 17.5 inches (as of 8 p.m.)
Ridgefield: 17 inches (as of 9 p.m.)
Fairfield: 10 inches (as of 7:30 p.m.)
Danbury: 8.5 inches (as of 9:15 p.m.)
Weston: 7 inches (as of 9 p.m.)
Bridgeport: 5 inches (as of 6:50 p.m.) It should be noted Bridgeport emergency officials said the peak of the storm for the city was between 6:17 p.m. and 8 p.m., meaning this total may be greater than indicated by NWS.
New Haven County
Wolcott: 16 inches (as of 9:45 p.m.)
North Haven: 13.5 inches (as of 8:55 p.m.)
Branford: 12.5 inches (as of 9:05 p.m.)
Cheshire: 10 inches (as of 8:20 p.m.)
Seymour: 9 inches (as of 9:50 p.m.)
Milford: 7.7 inches (as of 8:30 p.m.)
New Haven: 7.5 inches (as of 7:30 p.m.)
North Guilford: 6 inches (as of 7:18 p.m.)
Wallingford: 5 inches (as of 6:30 p.m.)
West Haven: 4.5 inches (as of 8:36 p.m.)
