Front to bring gusty winds, much warmer temps

As a warm front passes through the region Thursday, the National Weather Service is forecasting gusty winds this evening.
Wind are expected between 30 to 40 mph. Strongest winds are expected between 6 p.m. and midnight, according to the NWS’s hourly forecast.
The front will also bring much warmer temperatures on Friday, peaking to the mid-70s across southwest Connecticut.
It will feel like summer, especially in New York City with temperatures expected in the low 80s.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday looks like the best weather day with sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s.
Rain is expected to develop Sunday and continue through Monday. It says 2 to 3 inches of rain is possible.
Today: A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly after 2 p.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 60. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the morning.
Tonight: A 20 percent chance of showers before midnight. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 47. Southwest wind 9 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph.
Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 75. Light west wind becoming southwest 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54. South wind 6 to 9 mph.
Saturday: A slight chance of light rain between 2pm and 4pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. Southwest wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Saturday Night: A 40 percent chance of light rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39.
Sunday: Light rain likely before 2pm, then rain likely after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 45. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
Sunday Night: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Low around 42. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
Monday: Rain. High near 52. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent..
