UConn's Ian Swenson arrested as part of incident involving fraternity

UConn defensive back Ian Swenson was arrested on Friday in connection with an alleged assault at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at the University of New Hampshire last month according to a report in the Foster’s Daily Democrat.

According to the report, Swenson is the sixth person arrested for an incident that took place between midnight and 1 a.m. Four of the people arrested are members of the University of New Hampshire football team and no other arrests are expected in the case.

Swenson was arrested on a Class B felony charge. He was released and is scheduled to be arraigned March 7 at the Strafford County Superior Court.

Swenson, a redshirt sophomore from Wilmette, Ill., took part in Thursday’s spring practice that was open to the media.

A UConn athletic department spokesman said, “we are aware of the situation and we are handling the matter internally.”
