24 Christmas tree lightings across Connecticut for 2021

Starting Nov. 26, towns in Connecticut will offer free cookies, cocoa, pictures of Santa on a fire truck and plenty of caroling as part of town holiday tree lighting celebrations.

Kick off the holiday season with these 24 tree lighting festivals, events and ceremonies across Connecticut.

Milford Green Tree Lighting

This tree lighting event features caroling, ice sculptures, a bonfire and Santa Claus on a fire truck.

Branford 2021 Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting

This event features a parade and tree lighting.

Magic of Middletown Tree Lighting Ceremony 

This Middletown tree lighting is part of a month-long “Holiday on Main Street” celebration. The tree lighting will feature popcorn, hot pretzels and free wagon rides.

Santa Lights Up Putnam

This tree lighting event in Putnam will feature hot chocolate, Christmas cookies, candy and a visit from Santa on a firetruck.

Norwalk Christmas Tree Lighting & Vendor Fair

This Norwalk tree lighting will feature caroling and visits from Santa. A vendor fair will precede the lighting.

New Milford 55th Annual Tree Lighting

The event, sponsored by the Greater New Milford Chamber of Commerce, includes visits from Mayor Pete Bass and Santa Claus.

City of Waterbury Tree Lighting 

This tree lighting event in Waterbury will feature horse and carriage rides, Santa visits, Christmas carols, popcorn balls, hot chocolate, donuts and live music. Anyone who brings a non-perishable food product will receive one free hot dog.

Bridgeport Annual Tree Lighting

This Bridgeport tree lighting ceremony will feature children's activities, visits with Santa, food vendors and more.

Greenwich Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony

This tree lighting ceremony will take place at Greenwich Town Hall.

Holidays on Main, Wethersfield

This holiday event on Wethersfield’s Main Street will feature a tree lighting, fire jugglers, food vendors, caroling, visits from Santa, wagon rides and more.

New Haven Tree Lighting 

This tree lighting takes place on the New Haven Green.

Trumbull Tree Lighting 

This Trumbull tree lighting will feature live Christmas music.

Oxford Tree Lighting 

This tree lighting at the Town Hall Gazebo will feature a visit from Santa. The town will also collect toy and non-perishable food donations.

Town of Fairfield Annual Tree Lighting

This Fairfield tree lighting event will feature live music.

Bethlehem Christmas Town Festival 

The first night of Bethlehem’s Christmas Town Festival will feature a tree lighting ceremony for the town's 85-foot Christmas tree.

Where and when: 5-9:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, and 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, on the Bethlehem Town Green at the junction between Routes 61 and 132. For more information, visit Christmastownfestival.com.

This Danbury tree lighting celebration will include cookies, carolers, hot chocolate and visits with Santa.

Water’s Edge Resort Annual Tree Lighting, Westbrook 

This free resort event is open to the public and will feature pictures with Santa, a tree lighting, cookie decorating and free Christmas cookies, hot cocoa and coffee.

Easton Library Tree Lighting and Craft Fair 

The Easton Library will host this craft fair and tree lighting with cookies and hot chocolate, caroling and visits with Santa.

Annual Huntington Green Christmas Tree Lighting 

This tree lighting will feature Christmas music, performances from Shelton-Based Project Dance Center, caroling, cocoa, treats, a visit from the Shelton mayor and an appearance by Santa.

2021 Westbrook Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting

This annual parade and tree lighting event features visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, ice carving, crafts and reindeer food, s’mores at the bonfire, performances, horse-drawn carriage rides and refreshments.

Fairfield University Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony 

This tree lighting event at Fairfield University will feature photos with Santa Claus and Fairfield U mascot Lucas the Stag, along with live music performances and free cookies and coco.

Stamford Heights and Lights

This tree lighting event will also feature Santa rapelling down Landmark Square, one of the tallest buildings in Stamford. This event will also feature live music and fireworks.
