(Peter Hvizdak - New Haven Register) PATH Car 745, which was in the PATH subway station under the North Tower of the World Trade Center and survived the 9/11 terrorist attack, has been restored at the Shore Line Trolley Museum in East Haven, Connecticut. The PATH Car 745 will be open to the public after a dedication ceremony Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the museum.The subway car, in the permanent collection at the Shore Line Trolley Museum, is one of two that were found in a cast iron tunnel which enabled them to withstand the pressures from the collapsing World Trade Center building above. On the morning of September 11, 2001, the car was sent to the World Trade Center to pick up passengers, but none were found inside when the car was discovered during excavation.
