On Sunday, June 22 the Staples boys soccer team will host an event in conjunction with the United States national team's second world cup match against Portugal in Brazil. The event begins at 3:30 on the Staples soccer fields, where elementary and middle school players are invited to participate in small-sided games in addition to mini-tournaments and other contests.
Following a pregame meal, the event will move indoors to the Staples auditorium, where the match between the United States and Portugal, which kicks off at 6 p.m., will be shown on a 20-foot screen. At halftime, a raffle will be held for a behind-the-scenes tour of ESPN headquarters, which will be conducted by Jeremy Schaap. Up to eight people will enjoy a day in the studios and digital center, with lunch in the ESPN cafeteria.
