Maybe the all-star break arrives at a good time for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, plagued by injury and struggling to score.

Frederik Andersen stopped all 23 Bridgeport shots Saturday in the Norfolk Admirals' 5-0 win at Scope in Norfolk, Va.

"It starts with me: It's got to be our focus over the break to reenergize, refocus," coach Scott Pellerin said, " to find the areas of our own personal game where we have to get better, how we have to play and execute the game plan."

Bridgeport has lost three in a row going into the all-star break with two goals in the three games.

The Sound Tigers had a chance to tie for first place in the Northeast Division on Jan. 4; with eight losses in 10 games since, they're 14 points behind Springfield, fourth in the division and 12th in the conference, three points out of a playoff spot.

Emerson Etem, the Admirals' all-star representative, had two goals and an assist. He scored 6:11 into the game then assisted on Luca Caputi's goal in the second, the first of a pair of broken-play goals that built the Admirals a 3-0 lead.

Etem scored one of the two power-play goals late in the third period. That came after referee Jamie Koharski ejected Bridgeport's Nathan McIver. Koharski called McIver the aggressor in an altercation with Patrick Maroon, who'd been after Bridgeport's leading scorer, Nino Niederreiter.

Niederreiter and Matt Donovan will spend the next two days in Providence, R.I., at the AHL All-Star Game. The league announced Saturday that both were voted to the Eastern Conference starting lineup.

Mark Arcobello of Milford, a former Fairfield Prep and Yale standout who plays for Oklahoma City, will start for the Western Conference. The skills competition is Sunday; the game itself is Monday.

The rest of the Sound Tigers get a few days off before Thursday's home game against the Providence Bruins.;;
