Girls tennis: Greens Farms Academy won at Loomis Chaffee School 9-0 on March 30 in Windsor. Playing the 6-3 format -- three doubles matches consisting of a pro set, followed by six best-of-three singles matches -- the Dragons dropped only a few games on their way to a win.

First was No. 1 doubles, where junior Frankie Garofalo paired with senior Caitlin Rummelsburg to win 8-0. At No. 2 doubles, senior Olivia Kjorlien and sophomore Avery Wolfe won 8-2. Seniors Jessica Liu and Suzy McGrath won by that same score at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, senior Kyja Kutnick played No. 1 and won 6-0, 6-3, while Rummelsburg was dominant at No. 2, winning 6-0, 6-0. Wolfe won at No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-3 and Kjorlien won No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-0. Junior Emily Cahill won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5 and Liu won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6.

Girls lacrosse: The Dragons opened their season with an 18-17 overtime win over Millbrook on March 27.

The Dragons had a 12-9 edge at halftime.

Seven different players scored for the Dragons, led by senior Phebe Wong, who had seven goals. Wong scored the game-winner. Seniors Meighan Grady and Madison Leonard, sophomore Campbell Goldsmith, junior Kaitlin Ball and Kate Paliotta, an eighth grader, each scored two goals. Freshman Lucy Webb recorded 10 saves in net for the Dragons.

Boys lacrosse: The Dragons dropped their opener 12-9 to the Hyde School on March 30.

The Dragons trailed 8-4 at halftime and 11-5 after three quarters.

Senior Ryan Eckert had three goals for GFA, while junior Max Tarika had three goals and two assists. Sophomore goalie Riley Grady made 15 saves.

Baseball: GFA beat Chase Collegiate 8-3 on March 27 and fell to South Kent 8-6 on March 30.

Against South Kent, the Dragons let a 6-5 lead heading into the seventh inning slip away. The Dragons were led by senior Brian Dexheimer, who went 2-for-3 with a double. Sophomore Alex Berman had two hits and scored two runs.

Against Chase Collegiate, senior Jonah Singer earned the win on the mound, throwing five strong innings with six strikeouts. Sophomore Jake Berman led the offense, going 3-4 with a triple, two doubles and three RBI. Berman also pitched two shutout innings and got the save.

Dexheimer, junior Drew Martin, sophomore Harry Berman and freshman Paul Bozzella each had two hits for GFA.
