GFA (8-0) extended its undefeated streak to 26 games dating back to last year. The Dragons won 66-51 win at St Luke's Jan. 7 behind juniors Jimmy Djema and Zach Baines combining for 34 points. Freshman Sunday Okeke pulled down a season high 17 rebounds. Okeke helped lead a defensive effort that held St Luke's to only 17 points in the opening half.
GFA then topped King 68-57 Dec. 9 before dropping Rye Country Day 73-56 Dec. 11. Matt Tate had 23 points, seven assists and six rebounds in the win.
GFA (2-4) defeated NEPSAC opponent Christian Heritage 33-32 Jan. 8 on a buzzer-beating layup by Lexi Kimball. Although GFA held the lead for majority of the game, the Kingsmen pulled ahead by three with just two minutes to go. With just 14 seconds left to play and the Dragons down a point, junior Lisa Johnson grabbed a rebound off a missed shot, made a pass down court to Kimball, who
made the winning lay-up as the buzzer went off.

Kimball led all scorers with 10 points while Erin Reilly scored eight, including four in the final minute.
GFA defeated Holy Child 7-0 Jan. 7, winning all of its matches in straight sets.. Winning for GFA were No. 1 Charlotte Kreitler, No. 2 Tia Carson (Westport), No. 3 Arabella Crawford (Westport), No. 4 Cole Vanacore, No. 5 Olivia Taylor, No. 6 Kaitlin Ball and No. 7 Avery Vanacore.
The Dragons fell to Greenwich Academy 6-0 Jan. 9.
The Dragons beat King High School 5-2 Jan. 8.. 2 sophomore Jack Mackle, No. 4 Ryan Schendel, No. 5 Colin Hughes, No. 6 Rui Aguiar, No. 7 Jack Davenport and No. 8 Uday Avula won matches for GFA.
GFA then lost to Rye Country Day School 6-1 Jan. 8. Mackle won his match in five games.
GFA fell to the Brunswick school 7-0 Jan. 10.
GFA (6-1) had another strong showing this weekend going 2-1 against New England rivals Pomfret, Marianapolis and Choate Jan. 11. The Dragons started with a 51-30 routing of Marianapolis. Winning by pin were Hans Forland (113 pounds), Riley Grady (126), Ben Holcomb (138), Jad Qaddourah (160), Seth Henriquez (182) and Jake Berman (195)(Westport). Winning his first varsity match was sophomore Simon Stone (170). The Dragons then faced the Pomfret school and won 48-30. In the last match of the session the Dragons lost to Choate 45-34.
GFA faced Greenwich Jan. 8 in its second match of the season. The Women's Foil and Epee teams won all of their matches. Women's Foil A won 5-4, Foil B won 6-3 and Epee won 7-2. The Men's Foil lost 5-4.
