The fourth annual Sticks for Soldiers game will take place at Staples High School on Saturday at 5 p.m. as the Wreckers take on Wilton.
The evening's program will include a moving opening ceremony featuring Presentation of Colors, remarks by Sticks For Soldiers President, Jim Tommins, introduction of team captains and coaches, and a Staples High School student singing the National Anthem.
A keynote speech will be delivered by former Commanding Officer of SEAL Team TWO and Westport resident, Mike Hayes. PAL youth teams will be out to show their support by participating in a shooting contest as well as a scrimmage at halftime.
There is a suggested minimum donation of $5 for admission and there will be concession stands. All money raised during the Staples Sticks for Soldiers event will go directly to the organization and the veterans it serves.
