Danbury man facing drug, weapons charges

DANBURY - A man who police say had more than a pound of marijuana was arrested this week on a variety of drug and weapons charges.

Dante Stebbins, 27, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle and altering a firearm, police said, after an investigation by the department’s Special Investigations Division.

Police said they began investigating Stebbins after receiving several complaints about his purported drug sales in the city. Stebbins was stopped by investigators on Monday in a parking lot on Backus Avenue where police said he was found in possession of marijuana and was arrested.

Additional searches of of his home and car revealed a large quantity of marijuana and a .45 caliber handgun.
