Danbury couple face drug charges

DANBURY — A Danbury couple is facing drug charges following raid Tuesday by the Special Investigations Division of the Danbury Police Department.

A search and seizure warrant was executed Tuesday on the apartment of Roy Romero, 29, on Arch Street in Danbury. Investigators recovered marijuana, packaging materials as well as a substantial amount of cash, police said. Three young children were found in the residence as well.

Romero was charged with three counts of risk of injury to a minor, possession of over 1/2 ounce of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell, possession with intent to sell with 1,500 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia. Romero was released on $2,500 bond with a court date Wednesday in Superior Court in Danbury.

Betzabet Sanchez, 25, of Danbury was processed and charged with three counts of risk of injury to a minor, possession of over 1/2 ounce of a controlled substance, possession within 1,500 feet of a school, and possession of drug paraphernalia within 1,500 feet of a school. Sanchez was released on a written promise to appear with a court date Wednesday in Superior Court in Danbury.
