A man's body was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of an east Houston motel overnight, officials said.

Guests at the hotel at the Motel 6 in the 10100 block of the East Freeway near Mercury heard gun shots around 1:35 a.m. Sunday morning, according to the Houston Police Department.

The witnesses saw two men in dark clothing walking away from the area of the shooting and then saw the man, who has not been identified, on the side of the motel, officials said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD does not have any information on the suspected shooters, who fled the scene.
