Storylines: Staples comes into Friday night’s meeting with Norwalk fresh off consecutive weeks of frustrating results. After jumping out of the gates with three impressive wins, the Wreckers fell back to earth following a hard-fought loss to Ridgefield and a pretty one-sided contest against Darien. But the good news is that Coach Marce Petroccio and crew have an opportunity to get back in the winner’s circle on the road.

The bad news for the Wreckers is that this won’t be a cake walk. The Bears are fresh off big confidence building win over Trumbull last week and have continued to play well throughout much of the season — with a single hiccup in a poor performance against Greenwich. But Norwalk has played teams close and with young players in Gordon and Walker surrounded by veterans like Hall and Elliott — this game is a big rubber-meets-the-road battle for both teams.

Bottom Line: How much of a toll did the two losses take on Staples? Norwalk is a scrappy, tough team and the Wreckers will need to play crisp to get back on the right track with a win.
