Two Bridgeport women arrested this evening on larceny charges in Westport have been tied to a series of thefts from a children's clothing store with locations in a handful of Connecticut towns.

Ronjel R. Willis, 27, and Lisa A. Samuels, 31, were both charged with sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, and possession of a shoplifting device.

The arrests came about after Westport police responded to a report of a theft from an unnamed children's clothing store on Main Street. Police responded to the area and located Willis and Samuels on foot on the Post Road, a short distance from the store. Subsequent investigation at the scene resulted in the recovery of the items stolen from the store as well as purses specially altered to conceal stolen items, according to police.

In addition, Westport police were advised by the store loss prevention employee that both Willis and Samuels are suspects in larcenies from their stores located in other towns in Connecticut. Police declined to release the name of the store.

Bond for both suspects was set at $10,000 and they are scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Aug. 20.
