WESTPORT — A Westport woman hit a man outside the Exxon Mobil gas station, police said.

On Nov. 14 around 4:30 p.m., a person approached an officer and said a woman was attacking a man inside a car parked at the Exxon Mobil. Upon arrival, officers observed blood outside the driver’s car door, police said.

Police asked the driver, identified as Charlene Smith, to exit the car, and when she did, officers observed blood smeared on the inside of the car door and on Smith’s pants. The passenger, determined to be the victim, sustained minor facial injuries, police said.

Smith was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was charged with disorderly conduct. She was released after posting $500 and was scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk on Nov. 15.

While investigating the incident outside Exxon, police found Smith had outstanding warrants for her arrest in both Derby and Stratford. For these warrants, Smith was charged with two counts of second-degree failure to appear and released after posting $1,500 in total bond.

Smith is scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Derby on Nov. 26 and in the Bridgeport courthouse on Nov. 21.
