WESTPORT — A Greenwich resident has been arrested for switching out a handbag from a store with her own, according to police.

In September of 2013, Regina Murphy- Dixon was shopping at Roundabout, 606 Post Road East where she allegedly took a $900 Burberry handbag into the dressing room with her. Police say she exited the dressing room after placing her own used handbag where the new one was, and left the store.

Murphy- Dixon was contacted by police later that day. She denied swapping the bags, even though she was caught on video surveillance, said police. A warrant was completed at that time.

On June 17, 2016, Westport officers responded to Greenwich Police to arrest Murphy-Dixon for the active warrant for Larceny 5th degree. She was given a bond of $1,000 and is scheduled to appear in court on June 23.
