William Cipolla, 65, brother of two local residents

William "Bill" Cipolla, 65, of Sunny View Terrace, Sandy Hook, died Dec. 24 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Roseann (Mino) Rutkowski Cipolla.

Mr. Cipolla was born April 26, 1939, in New Fairfield, son of the late Frank and Tessie (Caperella) Cipolla.

He graduated from Danbury High School . He worked for 27 years as a heavy equipment operator for the Newtown Highway Department until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of both the Brookfield and Kent Sportsmen's clubs. He loved playing bingo in his spare time. He also enjoyed visiting county fairs and hunting.

Besides his wife, Mr. Cipolla is survived by two sons, Lyle of Enfield and Joey of Vermont; two brothers, Frank and his wife Mary of Brookfield, and Dan and his wife Ruth of Bridgewater; four sisters, Rose Prisciantelli of New Milford, Antonette Fotion of Ansonia, Frances LaPine of Danbury and Philomenia and her husband Jack Kravarik of Brookfield; close friends, the Burdick and Vasatoras families of Brookfield and Danbury; numerous nieces and nephews; and his two family pets, Snoopy and Mousey.

The Brookfield Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
