Four children's book authors will discuss how they get story ideas during a panel discussion on Thursday, Dec. 8, at the Westport Writers' Workshop.

The program is scheduled from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the workshop, 3 Sylvan Road South. A portion of proceeds from reservation fees will benefit Connecticut chapter of First Book, a nonprofit literacy organization.

Panelists scheduled appear are Elise Broach, David Pogue, N.A. Nelson and Tony Abbott. Title of the program is "Where Do You Get Your Ideas?"

Seating is limited and reservations are required.

Pogue wrote a children's book in 2010. Abbott has written 75 books for children ages 6 to 14, sponsors said. Broach has published both illustrated books and novels for young readers, and Nelson wrote "Bringing Home a Boy."
