Westport woman charged with assault, twice
WESTPORT— A town resident was charged twice with third-degree assault after allegedly dragging a man and assaulting him in two separate instances.
At around 5:30 p.m. Nov. 18, officers were dispatched to an undisclosed Westport address on a report a man had fallen in the garage. Upon arrival, officers learned Ting Lu, 30, dragged the man down the stairs and into the garage.
Lu was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct and released after posting a $2,500 bond. She was given a Nov. 10 appearance in Norwalk Court, and, as a condition of her release, ordered to have no contact with the victim or return to the address until the court advised her otherwise.
The following day, however, the victim contacted police and reported Lu returned to the address, assaulted him while he slept, and then left. Officers put out an arrest warrant for Lu and on Nov. 20, she arrived at court for her scheduled arraignment and was arrested by Westport officers on the outstanding warrant.
Lu was charged with third-degree assault and violation of conditions of release. She was held on $50,000 bond and was to be arraigned later that morning.
