Jean Tighe, 68, was arrested at her home on Mortar Rock Road in Westport around 8:15 p.m. Saturday night after refusing to visit Fairfield police headquarters for her alleged involvement in damaging a car parked at the Gaelic-American Club, 74 Beach Road.
Two witnesses allegedly saw Tighe hit a car as she backed out of a parking space. A witness tried to approach Tighe, but was not successful in getting her to stop. Witnesses also left notes about the incident with the club office.
Tighe was later contacted by police, but refused to come to Fairfield Police Department headquarters, which prompted officers from both towns to come to her home.
She was subsequently transported to police headquarters and charged with evading responsibility. Bond was set at $50 and she is scheduled to appear Jan. 31 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
