Westport weather: Up to 6 inches of snow today
Snow is expected to begin falling across southwestern Connecticut later this morning, and continue throughout the day, with accumulations anywhere from 3 to 6 inches.
As if that weren't enough, the National Weather Services says there could be more snow next Tuesday or Wednesday.
Today, snow will begin before noon, according to the NWS, with daytime accumulations of from 2 to 4 inches. The most intense snowfall is expected to be late this afternoon and evening, which could make the homeward commute hazardous. The daytime high temperature should be in the mid-30s.
It will keep snowing tonight, mainly before 10 p.m., the weather service says, with additional accumulations of from 1 to 2 inches. The temperature will fall into the low-20s.
Tomorrow, there is a chance of snow showers, primarily in the afternoon. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a daytime high at the freezing mark. There will be a west wind between 8 and 15 mph.
Snow showers remain a possibility tomorrow night, mainly before midnight. The low will be around 22 degrees. The west wind will clock in at between 13 and 20 mph.
Sunday should be mostly sunny, with a high near 33. A northwest wind will be between 20 and 23 mph.
Conditions on Monday should be the same, the NWS says.
But by Tuesday or Wednesday, the weather service warns, a storm developing off the East Coast could develop into another winter blast.
