Westport weather: Temps high, air-quality low
Hot, fairly humid weather in the offing today for southwestern Connecticut has triggered an air-quality alert for the region.
As daytime temperatures rise to a high of about 90 degrees, state health officials are warning of high, unhealthy ozone levels from noon to 11 p.m. There also will be a light west wind becoming southwest 8 to 13 mph in the morning.
Tonight should be partly cloudy, according to the National Weather Service, with a low temperature in the upper-60s and a southwest wind around 8 mph.
Tomorrow will be sunny, with a high temperature in the mid-80s. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the low-60s.
On Sunday, there is a A slight chance of showers after noon. Otherwise, the day should be partly sunny, with a high temperature near 80 degrees. Sunday night there is a slight chance of showers before 9 p.m. with a low temperature in the mid-60s.
On Monday, the Labor Day holiday, skies should be partly sunny, with a high temperature in the upper-70s. There is a chance of showers Monday night under mostly cloudy skies and a temperature in the mid-60s.
Tuesday brings a chance of showers, the weather service predicts, with mostly cloudy skies and a high temperature about 60 degrees.
