Today promises a sunny respite from the snowy start to spring yesterday, but more white stuff is in the forecast for southwestern Connecticut later this week.

The National Weather Service says skies will be clear today, with a daytime high temperature about 50 degrees. It will be breezy, with a north wind between 11 and 20 mph.

Clouds move in tonight as the temperature falls to around 32. The wind will be from the north at about 8 mph.

Snow is expected to return tomorrow mainly after 2 p.m., the NWS says, with a high of about 38 degrees. The accumulation of new snow is expected to less than one inch.

There could be more snow overnight into Wednesday, with new accumulations of 1 to 3 inches possible. The nighttime low will be about 30 degrees.

The snow should ease by about 8 a.m. Thursday, as the sun emerges and the temperature climbs to about 40 degrees.

Friday should be sunny with a high in the low-40s, the weather service predicts.
