The threat of a potentially strong storm is in the forecast today for southwestern Connecticut.
The National Weather Service in a "hazardous weather outlook" for tonight says that heavy rain -- even thunderstorms are possible -- is likely tonight after 9 p.m., along with blustery winds gusting as high as 29 mph. The stormy conditions could also trigger some coastal flooding, the NWS says.
Earlier in the day, skies will be partly sunny before clouds move in and the daytime high temperature will reach into the low-50s.
Tomorrow, more rain -- and a thunderstorm -- are possible before noon, tapering off to rain afterward. The high temperature will be in the upper-50s with a northeast wind 6 to 16 mph, then becoming west and gusting as high as 26 mph. There is a chance of showers tomorrow night, mainly before 10 p.m. The overnight low temperature will fall to around 36 degrees.
The outlook for Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, is sunny, the weather service predicts. The daytime high temperature will be about 50 degrees, with a north wind around 16 mph, gusting as high as 29 mph.
