Today promises to be partly sunny and cold across southwestern Connecticut, a prelude to snow flurries over the next couple of days.

The National Weather Service says the high temperature today should be about 40 degrees, with a northwest wind between 11 and 16 mph. Tonight, the temperature falls to below 30 degrees, and it will feel even colder because of wind gusts clocked at up to 30 mph.

Tomorrow may usher in some of the first snow flurries of the season, according to the NWS. The high will be about 40 degrees with a west wind between 21 and 24 mph, gusting as high as 34 mph.

On Tuesday, there is again a chance of scattered flurries.
