Westport seeks community input on Fire Department

WESTPORT — The town launched a community survey on Sept. 15, asking for feedback on Westport’s fire services.
Survey questions ask about the importance of and satisfaction with certain services, including fire and emergency medical call response times, vehicle accidents, emergency and storm preparedness and fire safety inspections. Another section asks respondents to rate how effectively town money is being used on the department, among other inquiries. There is also space for written comment.
The survey is a part of a study of the Fire Department’s current capabilities and effort to develop a plan for the future. The Fire Department Strategic Planning Steering Committee is overseeing the process, and the town hired Matrix Consulting Group to conduct the analysis.
Information provided in the survey will remain confidential. Matrix will receive responses directly and only provide the town aggregated data, according to an introduction to the survey from First Selectman Jim Marpe.
The survey is currently open and will close at 5 p.m. on Oct. 9. It can be completed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WFDCommunity.
