WESTPORT — The dining was delicious, but the fun of the party may have been even better Saturday at Compo Beach.

The annual Westport Rotary Lobster Fest served 1,500 hungry people, all of whom contributed generously to local and international charities with their $50 admission fee.

In exchange they feasted on lobster or steak, corn, slaw and more, not to mention generous glasses of beer.

“The Rotary Lobster Fest has become another great Westport tradition,” said longtime Rotarian and First Selectman Jim Marpe.
