WESTPORT — A car sat running, unmoved, in the center, westbound lane of Post Road East for three cycles of the traffic light early Saturday morning.
When officers arrived to the Post Road area, they found Joshua Pepin, a Westport resident, asleep behind the wheel and detected an odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath. Police asked Pepin to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which he failed.
Pepin was charged with operating under the influence , failure to drive in proper lane, failure to meet minimum insurance requirements, and failure to obey traffic control signals. He was released after posting a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court Dec. 19.
