Allan Cockrane, 44, of Country Road, was charged early Saturday with driving under the influence.

Cockrane was driving north on Riverside Avenue, near the intersection of Sylvan Road South, weaving in and out of the northbound lane and crossing over the yellow traffic lines, police said.

Once Cockrane was stopped, police said an officer noticed a "distinct and pronounced" odor of alcohol on his breath. Cockrane also failed subsequent field sobriety tests, police said.

He was charged with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol, failure to carry a license and failure to drive right. He was released on $500 bond, and is scheduled to appear Oct. 3 in Norwalk Superior Court.
