Westport-based TagsMania has been awarded its fourth U.S. patent for its interactive plush toys featuring tags.

The patent, titled "Infant Toys and Novelties Using a Plurality of Tags" -- numbered 8,137,150 -- is being used for the firm's TagBall and TagRattle developmental toys with the expectation that it will be used for other products under development, Paul Oestreicher, founder, said in a news release.

Other products by the company, founded in 2010, include interactive plush toys Tagacuda, which has tags for its fins, Tagsdale, designed to resemble a Clydesdale horse, and Tagasaurus, which has tags running down his back.
