The annual LobsterFest, sponsored by the Westport Rotary Club, takes place Saturday at Compo Beach.

The event — featuring a menu not only of lobster, but steak and raw oysters, as well — is set for 3 to 7 p.m.

Last year’s LobsterFest, according to the Rotary Club, saw the consumption of 2,360 lobsters, 1,800 ears of corn, 225 steaks and “buckets and buckets” of raw oysters.

Tickets cost $50, and include the purchase of a dinner of two 1.25-pound lobsters or a 14-ounce New York strip steak, plus corn, cole slaw, potato salad, bread and butter, and peppermint patties, as well as beer or wine.

Children’s tickets are $10 for hot dogs or chicken fingers, chips and water or lemonade.

The event is limited to 1,500 ticket holders, and has sold out its first three years.

Festivities also include a cash raw bar, musical entertainment, as well activities for children.

Funds generated benefit more than 30 nonprofit organizations in the area.

LobsterFest tickets are available at, at Joey’s By the Shore at Compo Beach and from Rotary Club members.
