The thousands of commuters who regularly use the Westport train stations are being asked by a regional planning agency to participate in an online survey about parking issues.

The survey is being conducted by the South Western Regional Planning Agency, in partnership with the town and state Department of Transportation.

The brief survey of people who travel both to and from the Saugatuck and Greens Farms stations will supplement SWRPA's overall study of parking at Westport's depots.

The anonymous survey is posted online at:

- Among the questions asked in the survey are:

- How often do you take the train from one of Westport stations?

- Which station do you use most frequently?

- Where do you travel to from Westport?

- How do you travel to the local railroad stations?

- Do you have an annual permit to park at one of the local railroad stations?

- How long have you been on a waiting list to obtain a parking permit?

The survey is project to take about five minutes to complete.
