WESTPORT — Three New York residents allegedly shoplifted at the CVS on Post Road East.
Around 1:15 a.m. Feb. 27, officers were dispatched on a report three people fled CVS after reportedly shoplifting over-the-counter medications from the store, police said.
An officer in the area stopped the vehicle on Riverside Avenue and found four males with more than 90 pain and cold medications, valued at over $1,300, police said.
The four men — the driver, Kingdom Utin, of Queens, N.Y., and passengers Jalen Gonzales, of Uniondale, N.Y., Sterling Jones, of Jamaica, N.Y., and a juvenile male — were identified as the people who shoplifted from the pharmacy.
Gonzales and Jones were charged with fourth-degree larceny and fourth-degree conspiracy to commit. Both men were held on $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court March 3.
Utin was charged with fourth-degree conspiracy to commit and was unable to post his $1,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court March 7.
The juvenile suspect was issued a juvenile summons and released on a promise to appear.
