Westport Police: Suspicious couple approached student

WESTPORT — Around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, a girl was approached by a suspicious man and woman on Marion Road when the juvenile got off the bus from Coleytown Middle School, police said.

After exiting the bus, an older, black four-door vehicle with a loud muffler drove toward the middle school student and the driver asked her if she needed a ride, police said. The juvenile replied no and continued walking to a nearby house where she called her parents, police said.

Police describe the driver as a Hispanic male, age 20 to 30, with dreadlocks, a goatee, and a deep voice and the passenger as a black female, also age 20 to 30, with a bun.

Police and the Board of Education are working closely to ensure student safety, police said, and asked anyone with information on the suspects to call the Westport Detective Bureau at 203-341-6080.
