Westport Public Library will host a talk by travel expert Susan Farewell offering travel insights, tips and recommendations at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, in the library's McManus Room, 20 Jesup Road.

A member of the travel media and a travel concierge, Farewell will offer suggestions that include ideas for easy weekend getaways in the Northeast, according to a release. She will also offer guidance on bigger trips to Europe and beyond, plus major once-in-a-lifetime experiences such as a safari.

A former travel editor at Conde Nast Publications in New York City and now president and editor-in-chief of Farewell Travels, Farewell has had her work appear in numerous publications, including Conde Nast Traveler, Vogue, Travel and Leisure, Outside and Metropolitan Home. She also writes for newspapers such as the New York Times and the New York Post; newsletters; in-flight and regional magazines; and websites.

A graduate of Boston University, Farewell is the author of several travel books, including "How to Make a Living as a Travel Writer," "Hidden New England" and "Quick Escapes from New York City."
