Westport Farmers Market to showcase chefs at fundraiser
The Westport Farmers Market will sponsor a "Fork It Over" fundraiser with local farm-to-table chefs on Saturday, Jan. 28, at Gilbertie's Herb Gardens, 7 Sylvan Lane.
The "casual evening" will give diners the opportunity to mingle with the chefs while enjoying a seasonal tasting menu paired with wines and listening to light jazz, according to a release from the market.
The chefs will include; Michel Nischan, Dressing Room; Bill Taibe, leFarm; Tim LaBant, the Schoolhouse at Cannondale; Matt Storch, Match, and John Barricelli, SoNo Baking Co. & Cafe. Pairings will be executed by Fountainhead Wines & Distillations.
The market, a non-profit organization, is open year-round and works with farmers, vendors and other groups throughout the community to promote local, sustainable food, the release states.
Tickets, at $150 each, go on sale Tuesday, Jan. 3.
