A program on health-care costs for businesses and individuals will be sponsored Thursday by the Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce.

The free session will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Westport Library’s McManus Room.

“The Affordable Care Act has left many of us facing high, up-front deductibles, costly co-pays, as well as new financial issues,” Jeff Van Tienen of the Chamber Insurance Trust, event co-sponsor, said in a statement publicizing the forum. “It has also created additional liabilities for the business owners and employees when faced with a critical illness or disability. You can’t predict the future so it’s a good time to plan ahead.”

“This seminar is in response to the constant barrage of questions I get about Obamacare,” said Matthew Mandell, the chamber’s executive director. “So I went to the Chamber Insurance Trust for the answer and we put this informative session together.”

The lead presenter will be Mark Perlman, of the Barnum Financial Group, who has been in the business for over a decade.
