The Westport Arts Center has announced the 12 exhibiting member artists for its "Solos 2013" exhibit from Friday, April 5, to Sunday, June 2, at the center, 51 Riverside Ave. An opening reception will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 5.

The artists include Nell Bernegger, Jana Ireijo, Steven Parton and Tammy Winser, all of Westport; Eduardo Agelvis, of Norwalk; Peter Konsterlie, of Bridgeport; Elizabeth Nagle, of New Canaan; Joel Werring of Redding; Elizabeth Gourlay, of Chester; Linda Kuehne, of Pound Ridge, N.Y.; and Gail Rothschild and Becky Yazdan, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.

In its eighth year, the annual show gives member artists the opportunity to submit their work for review by the country's best curators, according to a news release. This year, Susan Cross, a curator from the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, selected the final 12 pieces from more than 100 artists' submissions.

Artist talks: The center will have a "Lunchtime Talks with the Artists" series from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on select Wednesdays. Artists slated to speak include: Agelvis and Parton, April 10; Konsterlie and Yazdan, April 17; Ireijo, April 24; Rothschild, May 1; Nagle and Winser, May 8; Bernegger and Werring, May 22; and Gourlay and Kuehne, May 29.

Happy hour: An "Art Cafe Happy Hour" and screening of "Kingswood," a 12-minute film by filmmaker and Staples High School graduate Jared Frank, will be at 7 p.m. Friday, April 12. It is a BYOB event.

Art Cafe: Helen Klisser During, the center's director of visual arts, will host discussions on hot tips from the art world during "Art Cafe" from 10 to 11 a.m. Fridays, April 19 and 26 and May 10 and 24. Coffee and croissants will be served.

Drawing: The center will host "Drink 'n' Draw," an evening of exploring drawing techniques for all levels of artists with a nude model at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 2. Hot and cold beverages and snacks will be served. Participants must be at least 21 years old. The cost is $15, $10 for center members.

All events except, for "Drink 'n' Draw," are free and open to the general public.

The center's gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
