Weapon, motor vehicle charges lodged

Tony Perez-Silva, 21, of Meriden, faces weapons and motor vehicle charges after he was stopped Saturday for driving what police said was an unregistered vehicle on the Sherwood Island Connector.
After Perez-Silva was stopped, officers said they found an illegal knife in the vehicle's glove box.
Perez-Silva was charged with transporting a weapon in a vehicle and several motor vehicle violations. He was released on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear July 9 in Norwalk Superior Court.
