Did you know that Connecticut has had nine official hedgehogs, all named Chuckles? Friday, Feb. 2, is Groundhog Day.
Connecticut Chuckles IX is approximately 6 years old and calls the Lutz Children’s Museum in Manchester home. He was injured in an altercation with a larger animal and lost an eye. He was nursed back to health by the Meigs Point Nature Center in Madison, but was deemed unreleasable. It was then that he moved to Manchester to begin a new career in meteorology in 2017 after Chuckles VIII died.
