For 28 years, Dino and Maria Sforza shared brunch with family and friends while they cleaned their Westport restaurant.

Now the Sforza family, including their son Joe, who manages the restaurant, offer a weekly brunch for the public at their Via Sforza Trattoria, 243 Post Road West.

Via Sforza offers what the owners say are competitive prices for brunch: $19.95 for adults and $9.95 for children, complimentary mimosa, and unlimited coffee and tea.

The buffet-style menu will have brunch favorites, as well as owner and head chef Dino Sforza's egg pizza with assorted meat toppings, frittatas, a carving station, the family's homemade desserts and more.

"It will be a traditional brunch with Italian flair," said Maria, co-owner and Dino's wife.

"Customers are always making recommendations on things they want to see us do and we take them up on it," Dino said. "Brunch is one of them."

"To a lot of people, we are their neighborhood place," he said. "We have a loyal following and we want to give them something outside the box."

He is thinking as far out of the box as Bari, Italy, where he learned old-fashioned homemade recipes growing up.

Joe Sforza said he thinks customers will be excited to see them do something new. "We live in Norwalk and Westport, so we know the area," he said.

1 p.m.

Via Sforza also hosts private parties and offers a catering menu and a recently updated take-out menu, 14 specialty pizzas from its brick and conventional ovens, five daily specials and an opera night every other month. The restaurant has also received a permit for outdoor dining, which is coming soon.
