Baby, it was cold outside Saturday morning, but warm and inviting at Gilbertie's Herb Gardens where the Westport Winter Farmers Market opened for the season.

Set up in the greenhouse at 7 Sylvan Lane, the farm market's winter quarters offered a dozen vendors selling everything from fresh produce and cheese to bread, champagne tea and baked goods.

For visitors who to enjoy brunch, vendors like Maria Fraile of Tapas cuisine of Spain, offered fare like omelets to satisfy hearty weekend appetites. Deborah Sims of Arogya served up piping-hot cups of tea to warm body and soul.

The Winter Farmers Market will be held every Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., through March 14 at Gilbertie's.
