Vebell resigns from Westport P&Z; Dobin joins
WESTPORT — Within minutes the Planning and Zoning Commission gained a member and then lost one.
“I am delighted for the opportunity to be on this commission, and I view land-use politics as nonpartisan. I’m really excited to be on the same team as all these people behind me and excited to do a great job for Westport,” Dobin said.
Immediately after Dobin spoke, Chairwoman Cathy Walsh announced that Democrat Andra Vebell, who served since 2013, had resigned.
“It’s been a great honor, and I thank the town of Westport for the opportunity to serve,” she said. “I’ve learned a lot.”
Vebell, who urged Dobin to join the commission, said her desicion to resign stemmed from family obligations.
