A two-vehicle collision on Interstate 95 in Westport early Sunday caused both to roll over, but the drivers appeared to have escaped serious injuries.

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene of the crash on northbound I-95, between exits 17 and 18, about 5:30 a.m. Sunday.

At the crash scene, a Ford sedan landed off the highway on its roof, while a Chevrolet pickup truck carrying store awnings flipped on its side.

All occupants of the vehicles were about to get out of the without extrication, firefighters said, but two were brought to a hospital by Westport EMS for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Both damaged vehicles had to be hauled from the scene by flatbed wreckers.

The Fire department dispatched a command car, one engine and a rescue company to the scene.

The accident is under investigation by State Police.
