Two charged with failure to appear
William Birnie, 25, of Westport was arrested April 23 at 7:23 a.m. on a charge of second-degree failure to appear.
According to the report, Birnie turned himself in when informed there was a warrant for his arrest stemming from an April 2009 charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
Birnie's bail was set at $2,500 and he is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on April 3.
Reginald Nelson, 41, of Long Beach, Calif. was arrested on April 24 at 6:37 p.m. on charges of failure to pay or plead and second-degree failure to appear.
According to the report, Nelson was found by police that were investigating a report of an unwanted solicitor. Nelson's name was checked in the police database and it was found that there were warrants for his arrest in New Haven and Fairfield.
Nelson's bail was set at $600. He is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on May 4 and Meriden Superior Court on May 5.
