Trumbull woman charged with DUI in Westport
Update: According to the state's attorney, the case against Sheila Fabrizio has been dismissed.
WESTPORT — Officers charged a Trumbull woman with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol after pulling her over for reckless driving Saturday, police said.
Just past midnight, an officer saw two vehicles traveling northbound on Riverside Avenue. Near the Post Road West intersection, the officer observed the second car pass the first car on the left in a reckless manner. The second vehicle continued northbound on Wilton Road at a high speed. Officers stopped the vehicle and detected an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the driver, Sheila Fabrizio.
Fabrizio, 57, failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. A breath test administered at headquarters revealed Fabrizio’s alcohol consumption to be over the legal driving limit.
In addition to receiving a DUI charge, Fabrizio was charged with improper passing. She was released after posting a $500 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court Jan. 30.
