"Cover Story: The New Yorker in Westport" and "Can't Tell a Book by its Cover:" noon-4 p.m. Westport Historical Society, 25 Avery Place. Exhibits showcase Westport's ties to The New Yorker magazine, through July 5.

"It's All About the Animals:" noon-5 p.m. Sherwood Island State Park Nature Center. Art show and sale.

Olympic gold medal-winning skater Dick Button: 2 p.m. Westport Library. The skater, later known for his TV commentary on skating competitions, talks about his book, "Push Dick's Button: A Conversation on Skating from a Good Part of the Last Century -- and a Little Tomfoolery."

Final presentation by the March Maker-in-Residence: 2 p.m. Westport Library. Ed Kalin, an MIT graduate and electronics enthusiast, wraps up the MakerSpace project from March -- making an all-sky camera able to take a 360-degree image of the sky.

Tribute to Dave Brubeck: 3 p.m. Pequot Library, 720 Pequot Ave., Fairfield. Westport Arts Center hosts this musical tribute to the jazz great, who had been a Wilton resident.

The Usual Suspects: 3 p.m. Westport Library. Mystery book discussion group takes up, "A Killing in the Hills" by Julia Keller.
