Boys Soccer

ridgefield 1, trumbull 0: Connor McCarthy scored in the second half on an assist from Rex Messing as the Tigers won and secured the No. 2 seed in the FCIAC Tournament. Sean Ceponis stopped seven shots for the shutout. Greg Jaxitas had 10 saves for Trumbull, which will be the No. 5 seed and travel to Greenwich.

New canaan 4, bassick 2: Rory Shepard had a goal and two assists and Kevin Campbell a goal and one assist to lead the Rams (6-7-2). Nick Housden and Jon-Luke Ferrandino also scored for New Canaan. Romero Johnson scored two goals for Bassick.

Girls Soccer

Trumbull 1, Stamford 0: Trumbull`s Kara Katell scored with just under 10 minutes remaining to lift the Eagles (5-7-3) to victory. Ariel Braunstein and Kaylin Marques combined for five saves for Trumbull to earn the shutout and Alex Bitetto made six for Stamford, which finished its season at 2-9-4.

trinity catholic 0, norwalk 0: Lelia Barden stopped seven shots in goal for the Crusaders (2-12-2).

ridgefield 3, new canaan 1: Kelly Baker scored twice and Jaclyn Giordano added a goal as the Tigers (14-1-1) clinched the top seed in the FCIAC Tournament with the win. Clare Ashforth scored for the Rams (12-1-2), who will be the second seed.

FAIRFIELD LUDLOWE 5, PLATT TECH 0: Mary Kamovitch fired in two goals while Krissy Lozier had a goal and two assists as Fairfield Ludlowe (9-5-2) blanked Platt Tech. Katie Coyle and Kristy Barre also tallied, while Laura Mullen added an assist. Kristen Carr had 13 saves for Platt Tech (5-6-1).

FAIRFIELD WARDE 5, bridgeport CENTRAL 0: Maggie Allen scored twice, while Keegan Timmons, Kat Young and Maggie Winstead also added goals as the Mustangs (7-3-5) downed Central. Carly Mapa added two assists for Warde, while Alex Kelly and Amanda Galluci also assisted. Nissa Soto had four saves in goal for Central.

GREEN FARMS ACADEMY 1, CONVENT OF THE SACRED HEART 1 (OT): Idalia Friedson scored the lone goal for GFA, assisted by Sarah Tarika, while Emily Hatton tallied for CSH. Rebecca Stock had 15 saves in the net for GFA, while Heather Geehan made five saves for CSH.

Field Hockey

FCIAC Pairings set: Pairings have been set for the FCIAC field hockey tournament. All quarterfinal games will be held Friday. Top-seeded Darien will host No. 8 Staples at 3 p.m. Second-seeded New Canaan will host No. 7 Ridgefield at 6 p.m. In other matchups, No. 6 Warde plays at No. 3 Greenwich at 3 p.m. and No. 5 Norwalk plays at No. 4 Wilton.
