Filmmaker and Yale professor emeritus Michael Roemer will speak on "Why Do Funny Plays and Movies Make Us Laugh" during a program Tuesday evening, June 18, in the White Barn Center at Westport Country Playhouse.

The program is planned from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and is open to anyone with a ticket for that evening's 8 p.m. performance of "The Show-Off" at the Playhouse. Those with tickets for other performances may exchange them for the June 18 show by calling the box office.

Roemer's talk is part of the Playhouse's "Books Worth Talking About" series, and the program will be moderated by scenic designer and radio host Leo B. Meyer.
